POur client is currently in search of Senior Software Engineers to work in multi-disciplinary teams that build, support & maintain User-Centred digital solutions that offer real value and work for everyone.
Senior Software Engineers provide technical expertise in software engineering practices both internally and to our clients. Senior Software Engineers are leaders, can manage projects, maintain client relationships and are passionate about developing and up skilling others.
The role:
* Act as a Technical SME within the squad and produce user-centred software based on business requirements and following best practice
* Create secure, accessible services in a variety of frameworks and languages adhering to best practices and open standards.
* Present new prototypes to internal/external stakeholders
* Create solutions following industry best practices and using techniques such as CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.
* Develop software solutions in native cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
* Involved in the recruitment and on-boarding of other engineers
Necessary skills of Senior Software Engineers:
* Full software lifecycle development experience
* Extensive experience across an array of different programming languages such as Java, C#, ASP.NET MVC, Go, Python, Ruby or Node with a willingness to learn others
* Practical experience of developing solutions in a cloud environment using platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud including their associated services
* Infrastructure As Code experience - Cloudformation, Terraform or ARM or similar
* Containerisation experience - Docker or Kubernetes or similar
* Excellent team working, collaborative and communication skills
* Experience of working in an agile environment
* Have experience of or be an advocate for mentoring/coaching and upskilling others
* Consultancy and/or .GOV sector experience would be highly desirable
